The British Nationals are this weekend! Though it might not be the British qualifier, it’s still an exciting major! Without the pressure of qualifying and right in the middle of the summer, it’s the perfect event to let loose and soak up the great atmosphere with great friends. If you’re last minute like I always am and still don’t have your outfits picked out, here are some examples to help! Many of the outfits I did for the North American Nationals would also work, especially for TCRGs.
For the TCRGs, I picked out an outfit inspired by Kelly Hendry’s outfit at the North American Nationals. I toned it down a bit so everyone can wear it while still looking as fabulous. The pink dress keeps the fun vibe of the event, while the heels dress up the outfit for the lovely venue. Finish it off with an necklace that’s both funky and classy for the perfect fun, yet polished, outfit.
For dancers, I picked out a perfectly easy and summery outfit. Just match a loose floral skirt with whatever you’re wearing under your dress to make a fashion forward outfit in between your rounds. It’s still loose enough for last minute practices (though you might want to keep your bloomers on!) and easy to throw on and throw off. Finish it with cute pink flats that you could pair with your poodle socks. Irish dance majors are one of the few places you can pair socks with flats!
And for your non-dancing days, an outfit with a bit more of an edge. I love the contrast between the flowing shirt and the tough boots. This outfit is a bit more mature so it would be perfect for an off-duty older teen dancer! For a younger dancer, replace the heels with black flats for an age appropriate, but still stylish look!
Good luck to all of the dancers! Dance your best, leave it all on the stage and have an absolute ball. Remember to let all of us at home know about any amazing dresses that you see!
