Irish dance in “Real Life” – Jess from So You Think You Can Dance!

So You Think You Can Dance is one of my all-time favorite shows. It really captures some amazing talent and choreography. It’s the perfect inspiration for picking up my dance game, even if it’s not Irish dancing.

But when Irish dancing does pop up, I love it even more!

In one of the recent episodes, Jess performed his solo for the judges. Check it out, here:

Check out the move he does at 0:20!! It’s a pretty well executed Irish dance leap! I’ll forgive his arms for his height! I think it’s probably more coincidence than anything, but I got super excited when I saw that. Think we can convert him from Broadway??

Amazing dancing, all around! Check out the rest of the numbers at fox.com/dance!

Do you watch So You Think You Can Dance? Any favorites this season? Do you think Jess has a secret Irish dance background? haha

Stay Fashionable, Feisers!

  1. Here’s another interesting Irish dance connection I recently learned about. We all know what a smash Broadway hit Billy Elliott is. But many don’t know that one of the 3 original Billys, Trent Kowalik, who won a Tony award for his role, is a World Champion-level Irish dancer and multiple NAN champion, reaching the Open Championship level at the young age of 6. There’s a fantastic video of him on YouTube demonstrating his Irish dancing skills to a group of fellow dancers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aX7lZrjVbcU

  2. Wow! I knew he was an Irish dancer, but he’s fantastic! I believe he danced for Inishfree on Long Island, NY. Great dancing! Love the tap shoes too haha Thanks for the video!
