All-Irelands 2012, Would You Wear?

What to Wear There? – 2012 CLRG All-Ireland Irish Dancing Championships

Don’t get me wrong, I love the Oireachtas season, but the All-Irelands are always my favorite. It’s often where designers debut their newest looks and for a dress obsessed Feisonista, it’s heaven. It’s also usually a more calm and fun atmosphere than majors like Worlds or the Oireachtas.

The 2012 All-Irelands begin on Saturday and I couldn’t be more excited. Stay tuned for posts every day next week with the trends from each day! Remember, I’m still looking for dancers to report back on trends they’re seeing. It can be as easy as a tweet to @feisonista during the day! Let me know if you’re interested! ūüôā Check out Irish Central all week as well – they’ll be having some great coverage throughout the event.

So, if you’re going, you’ve put in the work, you have all your dance gear ready to go. One thing left to do – pack! But what is a Feisonista to wear to this mini-fashion week of Irish dance? No worries, I’ve got you covered for a fashion forward week in Dublin.

For this post, I have a few outfits that anyone can wear – TCRG, parents, dancers, etc. Just take each outfit and tweak it to suit your personal style and needs.

Outfit 1 – Simple and Chic

Sheer blouse

Hollister Co. destroyed jeans

Pointed toe flat

Diane von F√ľrstenberg platform heels

Ruby Kats chain necklace

This outfit is sophisticated and classy but fun – exactly like the All-Irelands. This is really a great look for anyone, any day of the week. Dress it up with heels or down with flats, but make sure to have fun with your shoes. Pair nice fitting jeans (whatever that is on your body type) with a fun, but neutral top and finish it off with a bold necklace. Lather, rinse, repeat as needed throughout the week! This is a great template that you can wear over and over again, pretty much foolproof!

Outfit 2 – Trendy Class

American Vintage long white shirt

H&M boyfriend jeans

Steve Madden high heel pumps

Jane Norman patent leather handbag

Oasis earrings

For outfit 2, I went a little more trendy. I really love boyfriend jeans and rolled bottoms right now. They’ve been around for a few seasons, but they’re definitely sticking around for this spring. Again, pair these jeans with some fun shoes (heels or flats – your call) and finish it with a simple, elegant top. Let your jeans and shoes do the talking here. Make sure to add some fun silver earrings to add some more interest. Throughout the week, this is another great way to create easy, stylish outfits. Take one trendy item and pair it with classic pieces. You’ll look fashionable without overdoing it – not that Irish dancers ever overdo it… ūüėČ

Outfit 3 – Professionally Polished

Acne button down shirt

Dorothy Perkins cotton skirt

Tall tight

Costume National leather boots

Privileged layered jewelry

Topshop leather belt

For the last day outfit, it’s a little more dressed up, but still casual. I love the way all these classic items work together in a new way to keep it looking fresh. You can work variations of this outfit throughout the week with classic dresses and skirts that have fun details. For TCRGs, I’d take the same idea and incorporate it into a slightly more dressed up outfit. Work those classic professional clothes but throw in twists like belts and fun shoes to spunk it up. In Dublin’s weather, tights are also a life saver. Make sure to throw several pairs of those in!

Outfit 4 – Dancing Queen

Last but not least, the outfit to wear on your dancing day! The focus here is still on your dancing, of course. But there’s no reason you can’t look as good off stage as you do on. We all know competitions have a style all their own, so incorporate that into your look. Pair a fun, patterned skirt (maybe a little less expensive than this one…) with a tank top you can easily get off without damaging your hair. Top it off with your school jacket and get in the mood to own that stage!

Those are my suggestions for this year! I so wish I was going! What do you think? Any outfits planned already? Let us know!

Stay Fashionable, Feisers!
